“Sue started her career in aviation as a cabin crew member for Britannia Airways in 1977 operating on B737 and B767 aircraft. Following regular promotions she became the Senior Cabin Crew Instructor with responsibility for writing and amending the content of initial and recurrent training courses. During her time at Britannia she was also involved in the selection and recruitment of cabin crew and headed up a small team which undertook a wide variety of public relations duties.
In 1990 she joined the newly established Cabin Safety Office at the UK Civil Aviation Authority as Cabin Safety Officer and was the first ex-cabin crew member to be employed in a cabin safety role at the Authority . After seven varied and highly interesting years, her family commitments dictated the need for part time working. She subsequently joined Monarch Airlines’ Cabin Safety Department with responsibility for policy and procedures as well as working as part of the airline’s audit team.
Since 2007 she has been involved with the CHIRP Cabin Crew Advisory Board and undertakes freelance work in cabin safety.”
